From Image to Word to Web: A Streamlined Approach
Create a Compelling Portfolio
Whether an architect, designer, contractor, or real estate agent, building a professional portfolio allows clients to see firsthand the quality of your work. In most cases, your website’s primary function is that of a portfolio. Choose projects that exhibit your quality, creativity and versatility.
Web Management: Display Your Work
Having great photographs of your projects is a start, but oftentimes my clients benefit from having me manage some portion of their web or social media accounts as this helps streamline the process of getting the photos to their websites and social media platforms. I currently assist in initial web design, provide ongoing web management services, and write copy for those whose time is better spent doing their work rather than worrying about how to present it.
Share It: Social Media Ready
Your clients will love seeing the finished photographs of their project. Potential clients will see how you can help make their dreams a reality. As part of preparing your images, I supply you with Instagram ready shots so that your work can be seen, appreciated, and enjoyed. Where needed, I can help write your Instagram posts.
KTM Architect
Architect Kimberly Martelli and I met back in 2012 after she had seen photographs of a home she had renovated that I had taken for a real estate agent. We discussed building her portfolio and I began working to document her projects.
As I’ve seen in other cases, KTM at the time had a website that was difficult and time consuming to manage. She had to rely on another third party to get the content onto her website. To help streamline the flow, we began using a Squarespace platform to highlight her projects. Rather than coordinate shoots, get the photos, review them, have staff write a description of the project and hand this over to another party to get onto her website, I was able to assume those responsibilities.
At this time, I have begun managing many aspects of the KTM Architect social media outreach. Instagram and Facebook are the primary tools we use. Her feed is filled with images from her projects.

Gotham Kitchen and Bath
Kris DeVito and I met through a common friend whose kitchen she had helped design and build and who knew that I specialized in architectural photography.
Kris also faced the issue of having a website that didn’t really show the quality of her work and also was difficult to manage. Working together, we photographed some of her latest projects and I developed an initial website for her on a Squarespace platform. In addition to curating the images with her input, I also would write the descriptions of the projects. Her new website was able to be launched in a matter of a few weeks after doing our initial set of shoots.
I continue to shoot for Kris, and provide web help where needed, but she now has a website that she can manage for herself, giving her the independence she needs.
KOP CONSTRUCTION
Olga and Kamil Puchnowski run a hardworking family construction business based in Mamaroneck, NY. They want to showcase the professional quality of their work, but are faced with similar limitations with developing and publishing their portfolio.
This is currently a work in progress, but with two shoots under our belt, we will have the basis of a new website within a week or so! In the meantime, we updated their previous site to get new content on it.
For now, here is a preview of their work!
